Biju Patnaik Central Library (BPCL) is the central library of the NIT Rourkela. The Library caters to the educational and research needs of the academic community and its resources are consulted by scholars from all over the country. Biju Patnaik, a great social reformer set up Regional Engineering College, Rourkela. BPCL has started functioning since 1965.
At present, the library holds about 84,000+ books and 18,000+ back volumes of periodicals. BPCL subscribed to many reputed databases, thousands of online journals, e-books, standards, etc. The BPCL is automated with ILMS koha and modernized with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) .
